Since the inception of the OPSR in February 1997, the development, co-ordination and implementation of reform programmes have been facilitated in the following areas to achieve responsive, high quality public services:

Providing Employee Assistance

Developing strategic plans

Conducting organisational reviews

Establishing Customer Charters

Establishing Internal Reform Committees

Developing and implementing management initiatives

Communicating public sector reform initiatives

All the office's activities reflect its Vision, Mission and Goals.

The OPSR is a unit, which falls under the Ministry of the Civil Service. Its role is pivotal to the Government’s efforts in creating new management systems and processes in Public Departments and Agencies.Barbados. This programme seeks to adopt a mission-driven approach geared towards developing a more innovative sector and improving the relationships between the general public and the public sector.
